Pastor Penghzong Lee
A Personal Testimony of the Senior Pastor
My name is Tou Pheng Lee. From my arrival to the US in 1976, I was introduced to Christianity; however, I never made an effort to change my life by truly asking Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.
When in 1990, with every road leading to a dead-end, I decided to get married thinking I could now start my life because I had my soul mate, Xe to help me. But, I was still without a road to travel, still without hope for any future, but with no more tears to shed. What was I to do next? I felt compelled to kneel down, praying to Jesus the most sincere and shortest prayer of my entire life. My prayer was simply, “Lord Jesus, if you are real, please changed my life and take control of it.”
December 28, 1990 was the day when I truly asked Jesus to come into my life as my Lord and Savior; he came into my life, into my heart, and saved me. He gave me a new direction by changing my heart; He gave me a new attitude to leave behind this materialistic life. He called me to be His servant.
From 1990-1995, I served as Pastor to Hmong Assembly of God in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1995-1996, I served as General Secretary to Hmong National Fellowship Assemblies of God in St. Paul, Minnesota and in 1997-2001 as Pastor to Cawmdim Assembly of God in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
For many, a successful life is determined by the accumulation of wealth or stature in this world. For my wife and me, we believe that successful living comes from God’s blessing in all aspects of life. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters: Mary Pachia Lee, Shannon Nkaujhnub Lee, and Grace Ci-ntsa Lee. Our harmony is found when we took on these following principles:
1. A new attitude to leave behind the materialistic life.
2. A change of heart to allow God to fill the emptiness inside,
3. A new direction to serve God.
In taking my new pastoral position here with Hmong Peace Assembly of God, I believe that God is still using me for this great and challenging work. I know there are still many lost souls searching for salvation. I can be a bridge for them to receive God’s love.
Until Jesus came back, I will always remember my most sincere prayer asking Jesus to direct me according to His will and purpose. I am still responding to His call and will continue to carry on as a good and faithful servant of Him.
